I plan on getting a 8800gts soon, and i realy dont think i can spend $380 on the 640mb version....will only 320mb of video memory break me down on new games? i do plan on getting crysis when ever it comes out

btw, if i do get the 320mb card i may be able later on to sli two of them

Thanks :)

It's better to have a great card than two middle-of-the-road ones, especially when SLI is involved. But yes it would be a cheap way of increasing performance if you were to add a a second card in the future.

On the subject of the 320Mb's futureability, I can only say that the future is foggy and it could go either way. No one knows by how much memory DX10's textures have increased. A 320Mb will be, in my opinion, sufficient for late DX10 though.

I can't really remember a time when graphics cards really were low on VRAM. It seems rare that this is ever a real problem. Now perhaps 320 is truly too low, but it may also really depend on what resolution you plan on running most games.

Honestly, if/when I do upgrade, I'll probably get an 8800GTS 320MB. However, I'm also not a very hard-core gamer.

I agree, ill probably wind up getting the 320mb since that will be all that i can afford and just hope that the memory wont bottleneck me too bad if any...but its too early to tell maybe i will be able to get the 640mb, Thanks for the input :)....
