Quick shortcut for subscript in Microsoft Word?

My chemistry teacher likes us to type our lab reports using very precise formatting. For example, the subscripts have to be font 10, and lowered by 3. This is different than the standard subscript in Microsoft Word.

Is there a way to automate this process, so that I can just click something, type what I want, and have it automatically write in size ten font lowered by 3, then unclick to go back to normal? This would save a lot of time since changing each number requires lots of clicks

well if you're using word07 the only way I could think of is to add subscript to your toolbar.
go to Customize quick access toolbar, but I don't think there's any way to automate the process
