quick ?

17-21mb? More memory needed for notsmart101! urgently! I haven't seen that small amount of memory for years at this point. That was in those old I486 days there. It all depends on what you mean by 17-21mb?

He means that he has that much free if you look at another post he says he has 192 MB's of ram.
 
yes.....and it is a 256mb of ram stick....it just says it has 192 total....my windows is using it i dunno....just should i get more if i have about 20mb free of ram

If you read my post you would have known what I was referring to like "more memory needed urgently!". XP itself takes up about 196mb off of the top.

With only 256mb installed 99% of systems would be seeing DDR not DDR2 while some still use 256mb sized DDR2 dimms on newer builds(not too many!). What make and model board are you running there. Are you running PC3200 or slower?
