Ok this is the mainboard im thinking for my next build 'MSI K9A2 Platinum w/ DualDDR2 1066, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, 1394, Quad PCI-E CrossFireX'

However, its says in specs of this board 'AMD 790FX (AMD RD790) Chipset
- HyperTransport connection to AMD Phenom/Athlon processor
- HyperTransport supporting speed up to 2.6GHz (5200mt/s)'

the processor Im getting is this 'AMD Phenom™ X4 9950 Black Edition Quad-Core 2.6GHz w/ 4MB Cache' which you know clocks at 2.6GHz...

Now, my question is... since the board only supports up to 2.6GHz...does this mean that I can NOT OC this processor?

What you some of you suggest for a mainboard for OC'ing an AMD within reasonable pricing such as $220 max?

Its fine the HT speed and the Ghz. that the processor runs at has nothing to do with each other. The 9850/9950 only runs on a 2000/4000 HT link anyway. They havent even made a AMD Phenom that runs on a 2600/5200 HT yet. Thats just what HT the chipset is capable of running.
