I have cable internet at 5 Mbps hooked up with a 108 mbps router with gig lans and computer with gig lan, i test my internet speeds at speakeasy.net and they are 4.9 Mbps and download files at roughly that speed also. I got the same results with a 54mbps router with 10/100 lan. Where or what difference does the router make in this situation? How would the draft n routers compare? Thanks for helping out. Maybe someone knows where to specifically find the answers?

well if you have a 54mbps router and only use 5 mbps then its not gonna be using the rest. as long as the router runs at over 5 mbps it will be full speed. maybe if your transfering files over lan then the 108mbps router would show its faster speeds. but yeah...
