Racing Games for PC?

I am looking for some great racing games that has free roam and some nice cars to speed around in. The games should have multiplayer and preferably Multiplayer Free Roam. I have looked at games like FUEL and Midnight Club: Los Angeles and they seem pretty nice.

It doesnt even have to be a racing specific game, it could be a Third Person Shooter with nice cars, like Just Cause 2 (Which i think is the all time BEST free roam and play around game in the world)

Thanks for your time and thanks for answering.

First game i thought of was GRID you can get it pretty cheap now its a great game. Another game is F1 2010 also pretty cheap now with F1 2011 coming out soon its a good racer if you like F1. Lastly you could get Dirt 3 recently released its a good free roam rally racer very nice looking game. I'd take a look at these 3 games.

GRID is indeed a great game, but doesn't have the free roam he's looking for. For the free roam, I'd check out Test Drive Unlimited/Test Drive Unlimited 2. Midnight Club LA and any of the NFS games would cover that as well.

Ah Test Drive Unlimited 2 how could i forget i even have the game :P lol. I haven't played it for a while but it is indeed free roam. You drive to showrooms to buy cars (plently of very nice cars), you drive to race events pretty much you drive everywhere. There is also some off-roading you can do in 4wd cars and the sounds of the motor are one of the best i've ever heard in a racing game.

How about BURNOUT: Paradise and the GTA series? Nice recommendation for the Need for Speed series. Is Blur any good? I have quite a few arcade racing/open city racing games for PC on my Amazon wishlist.

+1 for burnout. Even though it doesn't have real cars (though some are based on real cars), it is a hell of a lot of fun.

If you don't mind missing out on multiplayer, Mafia 2 is an outstanding game. Though it isn't everyone's cup of tea, I have yet to see anyone but games critics not like it. The story is linear, however the world itself you are completely completely free to go anywhere in.

I actually have Test Drive Unlimited 2 but i can't play it on this computer cuz i was stupid enough to buy a computer with a shit graphics card with a x4 port so i can't replace it....

I have Burnout: Paradise, The ultimate box.
I have GTA: 3, VC and SA
and i think i'm gonna try blur, seems like a nice game.

what do you guys think of the DiRT games? I've got DiRT 2 but I'm not crazy about it so I haven't thought about getting DiRT 3. Fun game, don't get me wrong, though. Fantastically fun to play.

Dirt is fine, but Dirt2 is arcadish. I've completed both, but I rather play the Original Dirt than Dirt2. No free roam this is serious rally action

I haven't played DiRT 2 or 3 but i don't really like DiRT 1. People say DiRT 2 is arcadish and i don't know, doesn't look any bad to me. DiRT 3 looks pretty fun but that's probably because this is more drifting involved and there is also a small Free Roaming map around a warehouse that i think looks pretty cool.

need for speed is pretty top, as is most anted, id say i prefer undercover for the physics as its very unrelaistic :P but i prfer most wanted for actual gameplay

If you do have some older consoles laying around (N64, Dreamcast or Playstation) the San Francisco Rush series were quite fun arcade games... Midway hasn't made one in years, and I haven't heard of any plans to make more which is a little disappointing... :(
