i have a radeon 1950 pro.since i got it,as soon as it was getting hot,i could see lots of distorsion on my screen and after getting passed 63 it will crash.i removed the heatsink and reaply some new thermal paste.it did not crashed anymore but after i while i could see the distorsion again.
i had to run my game at the minimum setting.now,as soon as the card get some demands, the card crash.i tried to use everest to monitor the voltage while i was using ati tool to scan for artifact.after 3 sec the voltage was still higher then 12 volt then the card crashed again.as soon as i put some load on it,it crash.anyone know what it can be?
i hate that card soooo much.
i think im gonna replace it very soon.any idea for a better card on a budget?

Welcome to CF,

Sound to me like Its given up,id replace it to be honest i mean its ancient now.

Whats your max budget?..what the rest of your system specs including Power supply details. :)

rest of pc is:
MB is Asus P5ld2
intel core 2 duo 2.2GHZ
Shity card is x1950 pro pcie 16x
memory is 2gig ddr2
power suply is Raidmax RX450-k its a 450W
HD is WD5000AAKS
for the budget lets say between 130$ to 150$ MAAAX

Your power supply is severly limiting on what you can upgrade to tbh,If you want a decent graphics card in the $130-150 range you would be looking at something like a HD 5770,but i just dont think that psu will cut it. :/

What games are you looking at playing?

i mostly play world of warcraft.but i sometimes play games like splinter cell and other like that

Edit:
i notice there is a big difference in price between the 5770 and the 5670 for not much dif on the tech sheet.is the 5670 a good card?also i saw a gigabite 5770 for a lot less the the ATI one what about that?
and i dont know if i want another radeon since the 1950 gave me probleme almost since the beginning.but i hade another radeon on another pc before that one and it was really reliable,
