Radeon 4770 Technology - Will it take over?

I'm getting used to my new PC - which so far is sweet.

Got my ASUS VH226H set up as a dual monitor today. I was testing it to play a DVD movie in my satellite Monitor while I was surfing and doing some Spreadsheet work. The Video card was getting a little warm where I had to crank up the fan - like when I would be gaming.

I plan to add a TV tuner card in the near future too - another heat source.

I know the 4770 has a much smaller chip than the 4850 series

Lower POwer consumption / lower heat production. Do you think Nvidia and Radeon will make new GPUs with this smaller technology moving forward. I like the 9800GTX+ I got - but I wouldn't mind if I had a bit less heat exhausting from my Video card when I upgraded in a year or 2. I saw the preview for the GTS 300 - but didn't notice if it was based on a cooler running tech or not?

yeas... look at that thread that says GT300 or something.... you'll notice the chips are shrinking... silicon world... where smaller normally is better... excluding the GTX 295
