Radeon 5750 and 3 Monitors

Hi All -

I just purchased a new machine (Dell Ispiron i3847) and installed a Radeon 5750 video card - the intent is so I can continue running my 3 monitors. I gave my other computer to a new employee here. I have to run lots of spreadsheets so I read this card is good for business/finance.

I am running 3 Samsung 28" monitors with HDMI to DVI connections. On my old machine I was using 2 HDMI to DVI connections and VGA. This new card has 4 inputs for the DVI. So if I plug one monitor into the card, no problem. HOwever, when i start plugging in the 2nd or 3rd monitor, all of my screens go black...until I unplug them and then my 1st monitor is back on. I can get 2 monitors to work. But 3 is just not happening.

Very frustrating! Spent almost 8 hours playing around with it, I am not sure what is wrong here.

I would appreciate any feedback/thoughts/suggestions.

I watched the video twice...What piece of hardware would i need to purchase in order to make the 3rd monitor work? That shed a littttttle light, however i am definitely still confused.

Hi all I am still confused because my Radeon 5750 card does not have a Display Port input...it came with an attachment which basically takes one DVI input and splits them into into 4 DVI inputs. So for my 3rd monitor, woul di need to purchase 2 dongles...one that goes from VGA to Active Display, then for the other end one that goes from Active Display to DVI?

Thanks for any help, dying with one monitor @ the office.
