radeon 6850

I have a 6870, and it works great as long as you dont max the resolution, I play at 1600x900 with all ultra settings (i5 2500k). The card really starts to have trouble when playing in 1080p though.
 
At 1920x1080 you'll have to lower the settings with your setup. Should be able to hold up decently with a mixture of ultra, and high. Maybe will a little tuning down of the AA and MSAA.

Hell, my rig runs the game maxed @ 1080p flawlessly, but then again my processor seems to be superior to most AMD processors. And my video card is far superior... yeah... nevermind my rig should be running at max.

If you dont have it yet. You would be better off going with a 6870. You can get one for almost the same price.

As I mentioned, I have a 6870 and its a really good card for the price. Runs BF3 at 1600x900 on all ultra settings at 30-60fps.

Stop thinking and just get it. It's probably the best card under $200 and comes with a free game.
 
Indeed. 6850 is a good card but the 6870 is definitely noticeably stronger.

Do you have a max budget for a card?
