Radeon 6870 vs GTX 560 Ti

I may be upgrading my graphics card in the future, and with the new AMD Radeon 7xxx cards out there right now and the upcoming NVIDIA GTX 7xx cards coming later on this year, I expect the price of the previous generation cards to drop a bit. I'd buy something that costs £100-200 and can play games such as Dirt 3. There are two cards in my price range which I can't choose between, the 6870 and the 560 Ti. I have used an MSI TwinFrozr II 560 Ti before in a machine I built for a customer back in November and I really liked it, never used a Radeon 6870 or any of the modern Radeons though (last I used was an X1300). I know the 6870 is cheaper than the 560 Ti, but does it perform as well? Ideally, if the 6870 performs about the same as the 560 Ti but it costs less, that's what I'll go for, but if the 560 Ti is like a world above and beyond the 6870, I'll go for a 560 Ti. The cards in question are here http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...aphicscards/atihd6800series/11179-09-20g.html and http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...tx560tifermiseries/engtx560tidcii2di1gd5.html

...or should I wait and see if the Radeon 7870 or the GTX 760 Ti is launched this year and get one of those?

Yeah I think I'll wait until the new cards come out, see how they perform and see how much they cost, then either buy a 6870 or a 560 Ti or a new card depending on cost/performance. My GTS 450 is doing fine at the moment so I'll stick with that for a little while. I think my system needs rebuilding soon.

I would say all you need is a new graphics card. i5 760s are still pretty badass.
Yeah but my motherboard sucks (it's a Foxconn H55M-S) so I may just upgrade to a newer Sandy-Bridge or Ivy-Bridge CPU and get a decent SATA III motherboard rather than trying to chase a SATA III motherboard for the 1156 socket. The ASUS P7P55D-E is the only 1156 SATA III board that comes to mind and that is hard (and expensive!) to find. I agree though, the i5 760 is still a badass CPU. :)
