I've bought a new PC which has an AMD A10 3800K CPU, and I've encountered a pretty major problem with the built in Radeon 7660D GPU. Although it seems powerful enough when I test it with games, the general display quality is really poor. Compared with my 4-year-old netbook - which has a very simple and much less powerful card - the display is no where near as sharp when put though the same monitor, is noticeably very faint and lacking in colour depth. The biggest problem though is with video playback, even with all the video improvement settings on, the image is almost constantly filled with blocks and noise whenever the image darkens the slightest. Again when I tested the same videos on my netbook. No noise at all.
Is there anything I can do about this, or do I just need to buy a better video card? I've tried all the different settings on the AMD Vision control center and nothing helps. It's a particularly big problem for me as I bought this PC specifically for video editing work.
thanks all
