Could someone give me some advantages and dis-advantages or the Radeon HD 6950 and GeForce GTX 560 Ti. Also, which one would be better for a gaming computer?

Thanks!

The 6950 is a hair better in benchmarks than the 560Ti, however if you want PhysX, nVidia is the best choice.

Which would you choose? There is only about £10 in the price with the Radeon cheaper. Is it worth getting the nVidia for PhysX? Would you be able to give me a summary of what the PhysX does?

Out of the two,Id probably choose the 6950 (2GB version)....i had one not so long back and its a decent card...you can pick them up quite cheap second hand these days,Same with the 560TI,s.

As for Physx, games that support Physx such as Mafia 2 & Batman you can really tell the difference in game,But of course with physx enabled its more demanding.

Its really up to you.

Tell us the price range and there might be something better for the same, the 7870 costs the same as a 6950 in the us about.

Sorry for the late reply... £200 would be the limit but if there is something for slightly more then i would consider it :)

Umm if u do get hd 6950 make sure u search and buy those ocable ones because u can get same spec as an hd 6970 without much difference in temp( well at least for me ) and apperently some hd6950 comes with pre oced where u simply switch onto 2nd setting... That wasnt the case for me but flashing only took me 20min and i had a hd
6950 with same shader count as 6970 and also the same frequency... Which was pretty sweet considering the price.... But bewarned some of them can not be flashed i dont know exactly which one cannot be flashed but apparently some model cannot be flashed no matter what you do...

So in conclusion i would get hd 6950 because u can flash it and get hd 6970 which is way better than gtx 560 ti
but that being said flashing at ur own risk and follow exact steps with a well known guide for ur specific hd6950 brand and everything will be good... Gl

Go with the hd7850, it's cheaper and a bit better then these two. If your budget allows you to go for an hd7870.

Thank you! The only thing stopping me from building this thing is money. I am saving up and should have this early next year :D

This. 7850 is about the same as the 6950 and it's also smaller, quiter, less power hungry, and Overclocks better I believe. I love mine! Also it's a newer generation so has better support for newer technologies :D

But if you can afford the 7870 go with that.
