radeon x1300 vs 9250

My bro recently replaced his old Radeon 9250 ($30) with a somewhat newer, but not very powerful x1300 for $100.

What I'm wondering is: did he horribly waste his money, or was the purchase actually worth something

One of those cards is AGP, the other is PCI-E. Did he upgrade the rest of his system as well? It's not great value, you can get much better cards for similar prices, particulalry if it's PCI-E. Take a look at Video Card 101. If it's a PCI-E card, in particular, you can get either a 6800 or X800GTO at that price.

What about if it's AGP? That's what i have and i have the x1300 pro. It runs pretty good and everything on high except i haven't tried F.E.A.R. on high yet.

both are agp, and i think he got a 512... could be wrong

most of the reviews on that card said that it isn't intended for gaming, i doubt your bro does much besides gaming so...i would return it and get say..this card or something.
