Radeon x1400

Hi there

Just got a new laptop, and it has got this graphic card, Radeon x1400. Then I was wondering if it was any good and furthermore I would like to know what is capable of and what its limits are.

From what I know that card isn't amazingly good in a laptop. For basic games it should be adequate but for modern games you'll have a hard time running the games at any sort of playable level. Laptops are never a good idea if you want to game unless you pay a shed load of money.

I used to have one in my laptop, and it was actually a pretty nice card. Granted it wont play games maxed out, but it played CSS around medium settings @ 1680x1050. It's similar to an x1300PRO for a desktop.

CSS and Hl2 are not demanding games, I can play them on my 6600vanilla on 1024x768 highest setting 2xAA, 4xAF with HDR.

If a video card runs Hl2 on max setting, doesn't mean that this card is good because almost any card on the market can play Hl2 at max setting

It's hard for me to remember, but I think it was around 30-60.

Well you can put the quality on a bit lower settings. See with me, I prefer quality over framerates. As long as they are above 40 in most games, im happy.
