My friend had bought Radeon x800 Pro video card about 1 year or 2 years ago. Recently he bought a new LCD monitor and after a month of use he noticed that the monitor was not displaying images correctly on the screen.
For example images would be formed by squares with lines in them and images that had shading were displayed with lines around where the shading should be.
He believes that the problem is the video card. He also noted to me that the computer sometimes shuts down for no reason.
I went to school and talked with my classmates about the problem and they agreed it definitely sounds like the card.
Our professor had mentioned that freezing a computer card (NIC card) may help restore a card to a working state.
Anyone here think this idea would work or is there any other options I can suggest to help my friend.
