Radiator Question

So how does the fan set up work?

Like if you have the radiator mounted on the side of your case, wouldn't it blow fairly hot air right into your case? it has to cool the water by removing the heat from it, so that heat has to go somewhere, which would go right into the case right? or would the air somewhat cool?

or

does it suck hot air from in the case and blow it out? (this of course doesn't make sense because the heat capacity of air is already to small for the heat of the water to dissipate enough to make it point full.)

thanks!

Where are you mounting the radiator? The fans should not be blowing air from the radiator into the case, they should be sucking the air. If you do decide to mount it on the back of your case, then the air will be warmer then ambient since it passes over all the components inside the case, so the best solution would be to mount the radiator elsewhere.

all the radiator does is take the heat from the water and spread them over a large surface area. as far as removing the heat from the radiator, that's up to the fan's job so placement and configuration of the fans are pretty flexible. you can have the fans push air into the radiator into the case or out of the case. you can also have the fans suck air out of the radiator into the case or out of the case. it won't matter much to have air pushed into the radiator or pulled away from it, but just as long as air flows from inside the case through the radiator and out of the case. this is to prevent having a higher ambient air temperatures inside your case than outside of it

Oh i see. is there a blow/suck preference? im assuming with 3 120mm there is not much of a difference?

I was going to cut into the side pannel of the case and mount the first radiator there. in the Lower middle section, about 2 inches to the left(near the back of the case) the case is a "super tower" so its bigger than your standard full.

frozenCPU carries many products and has good selections to choose from, but they are expensive. you can try xoxide, dangerden, or petrastechshop if you want to save a little money
