Raedon X700 - Have to restart computer to activate new card

Hello, I have been having this problem for some time now and it is very strange. I have called gateway and ati technical support and they have no idea why this problem occurs. The problem is that when i boot from the original video output that came with the comp, it wont recognize the new video card in device manager even after installing all the drivers. But heres the weird part, when i let the computer boot for about 10 seconds and i press on and off really fast, the computer will then boot from the new ati card and everything will work fine. In device manager the raedon driver shows but not the stock video output that came origionally with the computer. I have gone in the bios and changed the video output to the pcie settings. This has been a real problem, if anyone can please help i would much appreciate it. Thank you very much!

Do you have integrated graphics? Or just regualr PCI. If it is integrated you must turn them off in the BIOS (i know you said you turn everything to PCI-E in BIOS, but did you turn off the integrated?).

Are you trying to have BOTH enabled at the same time?
It's Either\Or. not both. You can't have them both enabled at the same time.
So, turn off your original graphics and let the new card install itself or disable the old and enable the new one.

Thank you for the translation. Please do not post the same thing someone else said in different words.

Sorry for not being specific. Yes it is an integrated video output. Also i searched my bios up and down and there is no option to disable the integrated video card. The only option that i have under video is 1. Video Memory and 2. a menu that lets me choose from 1.Auto 2.Pci 3. Pcie and i have it on pcie. This makes no diffrence on the option i choose. I have gateway 506gr. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

What seems like the same thing to you may not be the same to the person who is asking the question.

There has to be a way to disable the integrted video, either by way of the BIOS or by a hardwire jumper setting on the motherboard. Check back with Gateway to find that out about your specific MB.
