raid!!do i need it??

quick question ,does raid enable automatically?i am running win7 64bit
i have 2 seagate 500g hdd and 1 180g ssd drive with win7 on it
when i set up ssd with win7(clean install) i unplugged the 2 hdd's
i did win install on ahip setting, i then formatted the 2 hdd's and installed them, then i set bios setting to sata/not raid-all is well i don't need mirror
image in case of hdd failure or more speed- is raid alwways needed??

RAID is almost never needed. It is mainly there to backup your hard drive and/or get more speed out of everything.
