RAID Question

I'm going to RAID two drives together, a Seagate and a WD, both 500GB, and I think I'm looking for RAID 1. I'm combining these two drives together, to backup my main 500GB drive. I was wondering if I'll run into any problems after I combine them, and bootup to backup, or any other problems for that matter.

Thanks.

According to a Finnish computer magazine, MikroBitti, if one of the hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration fails, then you can boot up as usual and use the HDD that's still functioning. When you get the replacement HDD installed then the files should be automatically copied to the new HDD.

Assuming your motherboard supports RAID, and you have the RAID drivers installed - there should just be a few steps you have to go through in the BIOS or somewhere during startup to set up the raid drive.

Alright, well I have a 750i, do I get the RAID drivers off the mobo's site, and install them after I set it up?

You set everything up, then just download the latest 750i chipset drivers off nvidias website. In the nvidia raid manager thing right after bios screen, you will want to select mirrored for raid 1;)
