Raid?

Hello,
I have 2 SATA HDD's and am curious about RAID. My primary HDD is a 36GB Raptor, and the second is a WD 250GB SATA II. Can I RAID these? If so can someone explain in detail? I tried to do a RAID 0, and all I got accomplished is to erase the HDD, then I reinstalled XP, and it said something like "there was an error reading disk. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart" What did I do wrong?

You can ONLY RAID drives that are identical in capacity. I think there are different kinds of RAID modes, there is one for speed will the data are spilt so all the head can be utilised, and there is another that mirrors the drive so if one fails you have the other as backup.
