Ram and PSU question

So I am currently working to make some cheap upgrades to my old pc until I get scrounge together a bunch of money for a new rig about 2 years down the road.

I currently have the following mobo

Brand: ECS
model number: MCP73VT-PM

After much discussion in my last thread I will be upgrade to a dual core proc, and a 6770 gpu.

My current question:

What kind of ram can my motherboard support? Is it worth upgrading? I have 3gb and many machines I see these days have 4+.

Also, when I upgrade the proc and gpu will I need a new psu? I believe mine is only 350w.

And final question. What is the best day of the year for sales on new egg?

isn't worth it tbh, from this link http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket775/ecsMCP73VT-PM.shtml

But if you had choose, i'd go with at least 650w for a psu, of a good quality so you can migrate it into the next system, as for ram you're limited to any DDR2, personally i wouldn't buy over 2gb of ram considering how old the system is and i believe is a 32 bit operative system, so even if you buy 4gb, it won't read all of it.

as for the final question, it varies, some good days are black friday and cyber monday.

you do need a new power supply,he was saying to remember that if you get a good one that it can be reused in a newbuild later on.

maybe you should take some money from the budget for the processor and video card and put it to the power supply first, then you get a video card and processor. cause a nice video card and cheap power supply wont last long.

or just save up your money for the new build and leave the old one alone.

Thanks for all the info guys. It has been a long time since I tinkered with the insides of a pc so I have been learning a lot the last week.

When I get the money I guess ill be going with this one:

Actually you got like 10 off i think, they have that was ... thing to make it look like a better value, but it hasn't costed that much in years, since it first came out if ever, that might just be the retail price corsair recomends actually. But it is a great psu and 60 bucks is still a good deal, that's ~14% off.

Yeah, I was happy. I was looking at all the 500w and most of those were like 60+ no matter what brand I looked at. So I figured this was good.
