Hi,

I'm trying to make an 4-year-old ASUS computer work a bit faster.
Apart from the processor (Intel Core 2 DUO) I do not have any further information right now.

It just have 1 GB of RAM kvr667d2n5/1g, and I am trying to use some kvr533d2n4 (500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB) modules I have, but the computer just does not work with any of them.
  • I know I can not mix CAS latencies, so I tried each one of them separately. The computer starts (it make noise), but there is a message on the screen "No signal detected", as if the computer was not actually running, apart from the working fans.

Is the any problem to use a CL-4 memory in a computer that used a CL-5?

Reset the cmos. If this is an OEM machine, some didn't play well when ram was mixed.
