I'll get right to the point. I'm building a new gaming system on a budget (almost anything will be better than that i have now) and i'm looking at a new motherboard to fit an AMD Athlon x64 3.1Ghz processor. I found a very nice one, but i read that the RAM compatible with the motherboard only works with an AM2+ socket, while my processor will only be an AM2. This seems slightly contradictory, seeing as how the board in compatible with both AM2+/AM2 sockets. How does this RAM compatibility work out and will i need to find a new board, or will i just need a different kind of RAM? Any suggestions welcome.
Here are the board and the processor.
