RAM help?

so my last thread was epic fail
I need help increasing the capacity of RAM on my computer
it is Dell Dimension 3000 with a current capacity of 256MB
can't figure out how to increase it.

anyone want to give me some tips?

Buy what you need then open your computer, remove the old ram and install the new. Or just add some new ram to your existing.

no like...the capacity...
I have a GB of RAM
but it used to only have 256MB
ergo the memory capacity is only 256MB

any tips to make the limit bigger?
