Hi, my name is jon meeker
I was wondering how i can tell how many pins my RAM has? also all it says on the chip itself is pc100,what does that mean? also how do i find out what kind i would need to buy if i was looking to put in some more, like DIMM,SIMM, DDR etc, and does it matter how fast it is in terms of MHz ?
thanks you for your time/help
jon

Crucial will be alse to help you figure out exactly what you need for memory. Choose your PC's make and model from the list and it will tell what you need.

But my computer has no specific make, its my moms couple year old computer that we had built by a non-mainstream company because it was cheaper, its called "RoadRunner Communications", we were gonna go to compusa and get the computer guy there to tell us what kind it was, but there is no specific make

download CPUID it will tell you everthing but the pin count, then you just make sure the physical characteristics are the same (does it look the same, will it fit in the mobo slot)

PC100 (and PC133) are the wierd ones ... cuz they refer to both SDR100MHz memory and DDR100Mhz memory ... if you're dealing with the SDR variant than its 168pin, if you're dealing with the DDR variant than 184pin :)
