Ram issues? I hope so

OK report back and tell us how it goes.

I'd recommend checking your RAM and then each stick with Memtest just to make sure they are OK but I think that this could be a board problem of sort.

Seems like a weird issue...

Ya I don't think it's a ram issue as when I first saw the issue I ran each stick alone to test them out.

But a mobo issue doesn't make sense. If it was reporting wrong then you would think the bios an other apps would too.

Haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet.

But this is whats going on. Crazy and I don't get it

According to this Tom's Hardware thread, the problem seemed to be the motherboard. Link

You're running in Dual Channel mode, correct?

Yes they are in dual channel! CPU-Z confirms it

Both are in black slots on mobo. The motherboard manual has a misprint. Now I remember

This mobo is way outdated and I wish I could afford a new one with usb 3.0 but, I just don't need it.

This issue doesn't make sense though. I had the exact same kit in to begin and no issues. When I RMA'd the kit years later the new sticks caused the issue. Or at least the swapping of the sticks. To my knowledge they are the exact same. Same packaging, specs, and heatspreaders.

Guess I could RMA them again?

But, I mean it's not like my pc is suffering from the misread

Wish I had another desktop with ddr3 to test them.
