Ram Issues

I call BS. If PC6400 existed in DDR1 then yes that would happen but it doesn't exist and they didn't make PC2-2700 either.

For the 2700 im not 100% but i can assure you i'm not BSing, i did put 6400 RAM in, i have it sat infront of me still in OCZ packaging from the RAM that i have in my system now so i know where it is and so it's protected until i sell it on, Corsair P6400 5-5-5-18 timing XMS2-6400 RAM. I took that and the processor and HDD and 2 fans out of her system to use in mine or sell when her mobo went pop and she got a whole new system. I put that in there about 6 months before it went to try and speed the heap of crap up and it did...until it died. I'm not a lier, i wouldn't lie, i may have messed up on the 2700 but i know for 100% fact that i put in 6400 RAM into a mobo that did not support it and it knocked it down to what it could handle.

It says it does that in my Asus P5N-E SLI mobo maual too. That says it can only handle up to 800MHz RAM (though i hear people have used 1066) so if you use 1066 it will use it as 800MHz

Yes it will downclock, that's not in question. Only that it will fit in a PC-2700 system.
