I have a board I got for free from an old friend and it is a ASUS P4VP0-MX and i have no clue what kinda ram to use it is running with a ddr 266mhz cl.2.5 ram card with 256mb. What I am wondering is if I can use 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) in the ram slot. so can you go from pc 2100 to pc 3200?

Technically, that should work... Will it actually work, now that's hard to say 
Some computers can be rather picky with RAM. I have a laptop that uses PC100 RAM. You'd think PC133 RAM would work fine in it, just running at a slower speed, right? Eh, no. The computer won't POST.
