My buddy's computer was meant for gaminng, and also some movie editing, i would assume some multitasking as well.

Mainly he uses his computer for gaming, video editing/multitask secondly.

Which would be a temp upgrade, ram or cpu?

For cpu we might be thinking the 4200+ dualcore for about $90-100, but maybe the 3800+ duelcore instead for $65

Or

For the ram, we can just add another 1gig for about $30-40.

So which would be better, another gig pc2100 for $30 or dualcore for $65 or $100?

This would only be temporary, since he's planning on building a new one pretty soon.

Both. My sig rig serves me great. Does everything I want (Gaming, Multimedia, Multitasking, Video Editing).

Otherwise, RAM.
