Hi,

I had a PC-133 256MB RAM then i got a new PC-133 Ram of 512.

when i put only the new ram it shows that wrong memory and says it is 66 MHZ and asks for 133, but on the RAM its written 133 and also i got the new RAM by showing this old ram....so what is the problem y is it not detecting the new RAM?

reply soon...
Thanks,
Prasad

CP11906 fujitsu japan motherboard thats the number i found on motherboard,...

can i make that new RAM to work for the this motherboard......?

From what I can find on the board it will read up to 1gb of ram so a 512 with 2 slots should work, have your tried going into the bios and manually set it to 133

no i didnt.....how do i do it ? but when i put the new RAM it says it is 66 and it requires 133 ...so i need to set it to 66 or 133?

Is it booting up and showing 512mb, and just running at 66mhz instead of 133mhz. most you get into the bios by taping the delete key when booting.

no when i put 512 RAM it just shows the error that RAM is 66MHz and it requires 133, not sure where to set in BIOS to 66?

I could not swear to it but I am pretty sure they never made PC66 in 512mbs sticks so it probably PC133, I havent looked in a older intel or AMD boards bios in a long time, just check in eack section till you run across something for the memory, if all else fails take the ram out and reset the bios and put the 512 back in and reboot to see if it picks it up as 133

You can take the boards battery out for a few minutes, but most have a jumper near the battery that you move over for a minute then move back.

still shows same error ...:( WRONG MEMORY: SERIAL PRESENCE DETECTED INDEICATES 66MHZ MEMORY. THIS SYSTEM REQUIRES 133 MHZ

It sounds like either the RAM is actually PC66 or the SPD chip is programmed wrong. If possible exchange it for a new stick of PC133. I don't think they made 512MB PC66 RAM sticks either though.

I agree, I would exchange the memory sounds like the SPD is wrong. I dont think there was many PC66 boards that could even read 512mbs of ram, much less in just one slot. The only other thing is if you find any memory speed setting in the bios like Auto/100/133, manually set it to 133 from auto
