Ram problems 400 and a 333 suggestion please

Hi people i am new to this forum and am seeking some help!

i have got a 512mb stick 400mhz

and 2 512mb sticks of 300mhz (so a gig)

which would be best to put in the 1gig 333 or 512mb 400?

i am wanting for ram for a new game i have half life 2 and it takes a while to load maps etc..

I'd say 1GB of 333 would be better.
