I had one 256 mt sdram memory in my pc. I added another one, Kingston KVR133X64C3/256. My pc can't find it!
My motherboard is Chaintech CT-7AIA5 and I have Windows XP.
What I have to do?

well, for one, i pretty sure they need to be the same type of RAM.
like to mt or 2 kingston, but one of the kingstons could be 1gig and the other 512 mb

I'm pretty sure that RAMs are same type.

I switched the place of the RAMs and when i started pc, screen was black and computer was bleeping all the time.

seems like you have a faulty ram slot. Since your original ram is in a good one and when you added the new on onto the bad slot. So when you switched it around the computer detects no ram and starts to have the long beeps. Do you have another slot you can put the ram in?

No, i have only two slots. I tried to put the new ram into the good slot, without old ram, it didn't work. I also tried to put the old ram into the second slot, it didn't work.
It seems the second slot is faulty and new ram doesn't work?

More than likely 256MB might have been the maximum amount of RAM your motherboard would recognize. I am willing to guess this machine was ancient, so good idea getting a new machine (hopefully by new you mean brand new, and not just a different old computer.)

No, my motherboard supports up to 1G memor in my old pc.

Yeh, i bought the new one. It IS a brand new, not used.

AMD Athlon 64™ 3400+
1024 Mt DDR -- I'll buy to 2 G (S**t, i hope memory works :) )
250 Gt HD
NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6600 256 Mt
PCI-Express 16x

I think this is good.

I had the same problem. If one works, but the other doesn't.It's most probably a faulty RAM stick. Most of the new motherboards require the RAM be installed in order. (Slot one, then slot two) which is why the Motherboard wouldn't post with it in the other slot.
