There are 4 slots for RAM, three of them have DDR3 pc3-10600 1 GB cards from Dell. I purchased these from crucial.

4GB kit (2GBx2)
DDR3 PC3-10600 • CL=9 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1333 • 1.5V • 256Meg x 64 • • Part #: CT1493675

I'm not sure how this works. Are there two RAM slots per processor? Should I put them next to each other or does it matter? Nice looking forum BTW.:)

It has nothing to do with the processor. It has 1 processor with 2 cores.

The reason you go with alternating DIMMs is because that is the way that the channels are set up. You have to match the channels to make best use of the installed memory.
Always use the biggest RAM module in the channel closest to the processor (DIMM 1 & 3).
