RAM Question

I want to add 2 more 4GB sticks to my mobo to get my max 16GB in. I curently have 2 4GB sticks of Corsair Vengeance 9-9-9-24 timing at 666Mhz. Does my new additional RAM need to be of same timing and MHZ or can I slap in whatever and the computer will modify the timing/mhz for me like a reclock?

If you use RAM that is the same or better, it will lower it's speed and timings to match what you have. Do you know what the max speed is that your motherboard can support? DDR2-667 is slow memory. I would try and buy the same as what you already have though, as anything better would just be a waste.

I think he's referring to DDR3 1333 although using the actual clock instead of effective.

But, as stated, you'd ideally want to match the frequency, timings and voltage.
