RAM Size?

I recently got a 128 stick from a friend of mine but when I tried to put it in, I think it was too small for my computer. It felt very loose as I put it in and closed the clips. Touching it slightly would make it fall off. I know both the RAM and my computer are DDR. Am I not installing it right or is there something else I don't know about ram in general? Hopefully it isn't my mobo that won't allow the ram to fit. It is an Acer/Gigabyte (not sure, 2 sources say each one) K8VM800.

I'm planning to buy a 512 for my computer, this. I'm wondering, before I buy it, if it will fit in my computer, unlike the 128.

You push it in till it snaps in place, sometimes the clips will pop up on there own, but make sure there all the way locked

first of all are you completely sure they are the same type of ram? like you cant but a 168-pin in a 184-pin slot.

I pushed it pretty hard. It just won't fit, and will fall out by itself.

How can i tell how many pins the ram has? My friend gave it to me without the box but it does have a sticker on it. It's an Apacer 128mb UNB, PC2100 CL2

The kingmax you linked will fit. You should be able to tell what type of RAM it is by the location of the notch(es) on the bottom. If the RAM doesn't fit then it is the wrong type.

PC2100 should fit in your board as it takes DDR RAM, are you sure you aren't trying to put it in backwards?

Regular SDRAM has 2 gaps on the memory pins and DDR only has 1 kinda off set in the middle, look in the slot on the motherboard and see witch one you have
