Hi Guys,

I have an old Phoenix motherboard. Ramslot 1 dead. Cannot boot from hard drive - getting error "NTLDR is missing" but am running on Vista OS, not XP. Previously notices while machine was still working that it only picked up as a 20gb drive, although its 160gb. I can also not boot from cdrom - although there is power on the rom, not recognized as bootable device.

Could this possibly be a motherboard issue?

The bootloader thing is a weird issue, id make sure the slot that is dead remains unoccupied and try to do a windows repair on the installation and see if you can wake it up.

Probably hard drive is partitioned wrong. If you can't boot from cdrom then its most likely bad or the cd is bad. Make sure that the bios is set to boot to cd first.
