RAM slots

I currently have 2*256= 512 mb of RAM and was thinking of getting 2*512= 1024 Mb RAM. Is it ok if all 4 slots of RAM are occupied? I heard they downclocked or something like that. I was thinking of getting this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227031

since you currently have pc 3200 ram, it will not be downclocked. it only downclocks like when you mix pc 3200 with pc 2700, then it will all run at 2700

It actually depends on the motherboard. With mine, i get DDR400 if both my slots are filled, unless they are both double sided. In that case its downclocked to DDR333. Refer to your motherboard manual to see what it says.
