I wanna get a good setup for a moderate gaming machine.

I have 512 with 333Mhz on this machine (what PCxxxx is that?) so I want 1G or higher when I get my new setup done. Is all DDR2 RAM PC2-xxxx even if it just says PCxxxx cause my mobo wants PC2-5300 RAM and im not sure what speed that is (is it 667Mhz DDR2 RAM).

Help!!

About the above poll, I want the machine to last 3-4 years and still work with the high-quality games on higher - level graphic detail.

ddr333 = pc2700
yes, its the theoretical maximum MB/s that the frequency will support... for instance pc3200 = 3200MB/s of course this is thrown off by latency and doubled by dual channel... so its off but still... pc2 just gives you a better estimate of how far it will be off by because of the much higher latency's

i'd just get 2gb of ddr2 800, or whatever the fastest speed is that your motherboard will support. it'll effect performance a little bit, but not enough to matter in most apps.
