Ram Timings/voltage effect audio quality?

Hi,

We own a pro audio studio and have run into an issue with our system. The sound card we use is a very well thought of card (RME Raydat) and basically its lacking in treble and its almost likes its phasing. Now I know this isn't an audio forum but I read somewhere that Ram timings and voltage can effect sound quality. Is this true?

Many thanks
Joe

Well if the RAM is not configured correctly or is faulty it can definitely cause all kinds of issues. Especially as consumer/mainstream stuff is not ECC.

First thing to do is lower the RAM speed and leave the voltage/timings alone. See if it improves. Also reseat the sound card and reinstall the drivers/software for it.

Which OS are you running?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply :)

I will try the speed. I have already tried things like reseating and installing drivers etc with no luck

I am using windows 7 64bit :)

Many thanks

OK. Second thing: What kit of RAM do you have and what's it rated for? Also, are you mixing it with other sticks of RAM?
