Ram Upgrade for Gateway desktop?????

I have a Gateway GT5482E which has three gigs of ram. I would like to upgrade to 4. Right now it is 2x1g and 2x512mb. I think I might just buy 4x1g so they all match. Thoughts?

He's right. Nothing these days totally utilize all 4 GB. I'd just upgrade to 3.5 GB That should be sufficient. By the time programs use all 4GB of RAM, your computer will be too old :P
 
I was just going to upgrade cause I was doing the video card and a few other things at the same time. Since this is my little gateway and not the one that I built I only wanted to rip into and buy parts once. Ill leave it how it is then. Thanks for the feedback guys.
