RAM Upgrade

All,
I just added some more RAM to my PC. I installed 2GB more of the exact same RAM I had. So now all four of my memory slots are filled with 1GB modules.

When I added the 2GB the memory speed dropped from 800 to 567. I had to go into BIOS and change the ratio to bring the RAM back up to 800.

Does that sound normal?

No. Are you sure the recent RAM you installed was 800? If not I think it could drop all of the RAM modules to the lowest speed.

Yeah, it's all the same RAM. See signature for link to specs. I wonder if I have a problem......

Sometimes, when memory sticks are added, the memory controller automatically clocks down or loosens timings for some reason, I guess it's scared of something but setting the speeds manually usually causes no problems, as long as you're running identical modules.
