Ram wont rund at 1600mhz

It was set to auto, the I manually set it to 1600mhz, whenever it runs at 1600mhz it throws up different errors, sometimes it wont boot sometimes it says boot mgr is corrupt, sometimes it says windows has failed to boot.

I had some RAM issues when I first build my computer. Switching around slots and reseating? Set BIOS settings back to default fixed my problem.

Yeah Ive done all of that, reseated, inserted one by one and reset bios back to defaults, reckon its bad sticks?

Edit: is there any reason why if you have all four slots full that it the memory would run at full speed?

I do believe there are some boards that if all 4 slots are filled that the speed will drop down. Not sure if yours is one of those boards or not.

Not only the speed. Did you set the timing and voltage at its default for 1600? If not try bumping up the memory voltage. If still not maybe try bumping up the memory controller voltage.

Hi,

Sorry I left this for a while I replaced the ram with some cmz4gx3m2a1600c9, corsair vengence 1600, and I still have the same problems, although with this ram it seems to run stable at 1333mhz, which the other did not as it had errors popping up everywhere but the fact it wont run at 1600 mhz seems to be something else rather than the ram, any suggestons on what to do, Ive manually set to 1600 mhz, changed voltage on the ram and the NB and tried all combinations of this but still no success only thing diifferent I noticed with this ram is that when set to auto the BIOS says "target DRAM freq 1333mhz" rather than 1600mhz which it did with the old kit and all 4 modules and with just the two modules.

Edit: I have now def confirmed the old ram was faulty as those sticks with new one equals no boot and the dram light on, however I thought for fun I would mix the sticks around so I orginally had the ripjaws in the right slots to allow dual channel I have now mixed it so, from the point of view of dual channel, I have one stick of the ripjaws and then the corresponding stick is the corsair vengence and the same on the other slots and without any bios tweaking the system now seems fine with all 4 sticks running at 1600mhz.
