ok im workin on a computer in my IT class....and i recently stole someones RAM so i could add 256 to mine...this already had a 256 in it so now i have 512...is 512 in a pentium 2 bad?....
 
Ya, it depends on what it is being used for, since you cant run many games on a Pentium 2, and the ones that do take up miniscule amounts of RAM, I would say you would be fine with 256 mb. But, having 512 doesn't hurt.
 
im jus usin it to run progs...i got other comps for games...but i need a comp i can jus run progs on...btw...when i do get it i jus wanna delete everything off it cept for the OS and the stuff i need for it to work...so how would i make sure everything i dont need is off the hardware

the best way if u want to delete everything is to just do a format.. because even though u do delete all other programs.. there will still be traces left.. n some in the registry.. so its best to format if u have an xp disc.. or any other os..

ur setup should be good if all u wanted to run was programs..
