Random disconnects?

Well ive bought a new Belkin N Wireless router and receiver and occasionally not tat often i get a random connection failure, and it wont re connect for a while. I was wondering could this be because of the heat of the router as it has been on for a few days and feels very hot.

heat shouldn't be an issue. If it is hot to touch, in so much as if you put your hand on it you can't keep it on because it burns, then it is getting too hot, but if it is only warm to touch, that is perfectly normal.

What is the distance between the router and the receiver and which paticular router is it, i know you say belkin but there is belkin n, belkin n+, belkin n+ mimo (i think, that may just be G adapter ), belkin n rangemax, belkin n rangemax+...you get me
