Random lockups

Hello.

My computer locks up and gives me a BSOD, sometimes I just get one per day but if it's really bad I can get up to 3-4. When BSOD occurs it says nvdisp is causing the problem, I've updated drivers as soon it's released, tried old ones, beta ones but nothing seems to help so I guess it's caused by the graphic card itself. It's not always that BSOD pops up tho, sometimes the screen just goes into loads of different colors and the only thing that gets me out of it is the reset button.

The card is a 8600GTS 256mb, however, in windows it shows 512mb - could that be the problem? I tried to find where to change it in bios but couldn't find anything. The motherboard I have is M2N-SLI Deluxe.

Sometimes the graphic goes nuts without locking the computer and its just enough to minimize it and when you got it back up it's sorted. This is not how it looks when it completly locks, when it does it looks like every color available is mixed all over the screen and then smashed into pieces.. looks nasty.

Some screenshots - this is how its supposed to look:

Some help is welcome :)

when you replaced the drivers did you remove the old ones first?
have you overclocked the card if so roll it back, is there a power connector on the card if so have you connected it?

I've removed it yes, used some driver cleaner so even had to reinstall the motherboard drivers. No overclocking at all, and yes there's a power connector on it and it's connected.

...try using a older driver.. Then make sure it's not overheating...

Turbocache.
