random restarts

since upgrading my computer a few days ago, ive had two random restarts. i upgraded from a 3500+ to 3800x2, added another gig of ram and am now using much higher wattage speakers. i cant tell whether my whole power strip blanks out or whether its just my computer. i dont know what the problem could be especially since i believe my 500w psu to be fine for my specs.

Did you flash your BIOS before upgrading your processor?
Try removing the extra stick of RAM that you added for a while, and see if the computer stops crashing.
Try setting the computer to not restart automatically after a crash, so you can see if it is displaying any useful information just before it restarts. You can do this in computer properties:

right click on my computer, then click on properties, then go to the advanced tab, then click on Startup and Recovery settings, then remove the check for "automatically restart". Click ok on all remaining dialogs

i did not flash the bios before upgrading the processor. but, before removing the ram ill just wait to see what im doing when the restart happens.

unfortunately after getting to 'my computer' i dont follow your instructions
