Hello guys!

Im putting together a new build and I have a $1100 budget for it (including peripherials(I already own win 7 64bits)) I have though of some components and I would appreciate if you guys could help me with the build suggesting different parts or whatever, Im not new to building but I definitely would like some opinions. The computer will be used for CAD and rendering (solidworks, 3DMax, etc) and gaming (GTA IV, Battlefield 3, etc (with hope of playing them all in maximum or very decent settings))

So this is what I have in mind, what do you think?

MB:
-ASUS AMD 890FX/SB850 USB 3.0 and SATA 6 GB/s Extended ATX Motherboard Crosshair IV Extreme
-GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

CPU:
-AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Processor, Black Edition

RAM:
- Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DDR3 1600 (2X4 GB)
- Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

GPU:
- EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti FPB 1024 MB GDDR5
- Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6850 1 GB

HD:
- Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM
- Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM

PSU:
- Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus Series 600W

What do you think would be better for my build? Please suggest, replace, etc any opinion would be helpful... Even post your best build for a 1100 budget.

How much are all those parts? The GPU is the most important part of a gaming computer, so you may want to upgrade that a little. I'd get the Gigabyte over the Asus. And for the hard drive, I'd get the cheaper of those two. Have you considered a SSD? Do you need a case?

And is the win7 an OEM or retail version? If you bought an OEM for another build, that product key won't work on this build.

Where are you buying these? newegg no longer carries some of them. Not too sure about that power supply, there is likely something better fo the money. Also with those graphics cards, the better 6850 gets low to medium on BF3 at 1080, not near max. Also to max BF3, it takes a GTX580, or a HD79XX to max, which those start at 450 for just one, or you might be able to with 2 6850's, but those will have micro-stutter and can have driver issues with new games.

What GPU would you recomend then?

I havent considered a SSD but I could, how would it be different from a HDD.

I need a case but I havent decided for one yet.

good case is the Cooler Master HAF 912

An ssd is a electronic drive like a usb flash drive rather than a mechanical drive with a spinning disk being scanned. They cost tons more for the storage amount but are tons faster, boot times around 30 secs for windows 7 i think.

For the gpu, for the money a 6850 is great, a 6950 or 560ti would be a good choice, and like i said before, the best are the 7950 and 7970.

I would go for the asus motherboard and the seagate hdd, but as suggested your finished system will perform loads better with an ssd drive.

Youre right I cant find the phenom II x6 on newegg nor ebay, could I replace it with the AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black Edition Deneb 3.6GHz??

What do you think? also what GPU should I get then?

that ASUS mobo is also deactivated.

Like i said in the last post, a 6850 will do fine at 1080p but not get great settings in the newest games, a 560ti or 6950 will do great in the newest games out, then there's the 570, then it goes to the 7950, then 7970

For the cpu, the 975 is great, but the 960t can be overclocked to the same speeds and past with a cooler for not much more than the 975 would cost.

Again, check microcenter.com and if you live near one, that's the best place to get the cpu and motherboard. an i5-2500k for 180, then combo'd with a mobo you get 50 or 40 off, that kills the Phenoms.
