This computer will be used for raw gaming and movie making. Any suggestions would be awesome, and i have a couple questions.

1. should i spend the extra money on sli
2. which processor

This will cost me $1750 by the way.

2x8800GT is alright but have you considered a single 9800gtx, which should cost less.

1 8800gt = $209

1 9800gtx = $324

and the processor is good. ;)

Ya, he is right...save a ton of money and get a reasonable PSU and put the extra money somewhere else. Maybe in a pair of these, it's only $20 more per card.

Your power supply is $210! Here is the one I use and it has a ton of stuff on it. Two high speed fans in rear of case(total of 4), neon light, fan controller and I have never had any problem. I still have two 6 pin spaces free on my PSU. Just an idea.

Looks good, but drop that sound card and get a real x-fi. Maybe the Xtremegamer. Also, I would suggest getting the 9800GTX instead of two 8800GTs. Finally, that PSU is a HUGE overkill. Like PabloTek mentioned, the Corsair HX520 will suite you well.

@Scout: Why would he get an 8800GTS G80 when the 8800GT is far superior?

How do you figure an 8800GT is better than an 8800GTS?

I understand you can OC the GT's core clock, memory clock and shader clocks higher to the level of the GTS and beyond. But Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) are far higher with the GTS. Let me know why it is better.

Another person trying to show off!

How is this is any way showing off? I'm trying to get some opinions on a comp that I'm bulding. To those that have responded, thanks.

still not sure if i should get the 9800gtx over the 2 8800gt's, but im really not that smart when it comes to gpu's.

Sli isnt really up to date and most games dont even take advantage of Sli so your better off with the 9800gtx.

could get a 9800gtx and intel x48, and you probably need a 600 watt psu at the biggest, and that would probably be overkill
