ok, i'm mainly wondering what people would do to improve/change this setup, the only thing it really has to do is last me 2 years until i go to college
cpu: xeon w3520
motherboard: evga x58 matx board
ram: 6gb's of corsair dominator(2 sets)
gpu: sli gtx 285's(already got one for $200 so i might as well get another)
hdd: intel 80gb ssd
psu: enermax 850 revolution
case: lian li v350b
disk reader: asus blu ray dvd combo drive
as for cooling i'm mainly thinking this:
cpu block: ek supreme lt
gpu block: heatkiller 285 block
radiator 1: black ice sr-1 240mm
radiator 2: black ice sr-1 120mm
pump: liang ddc 3.2
reservior: ek 150mm res
fans: 3 thermalright 2k rpm 80cfm fans
fan controller: aqua computer aquaero

Personally i would go with feser radiators, and a triple radiator setup vs a double and single radiator.

@bodaggit the 1kw corsair is a bit longer than standard atx power supplies, and room is tight in a microatx case.(And btw, the corsair is more powerful, the 850W is 70A on the 12v rails while corsair 1kw is 80A)

I would go for one of the new Z series ocz power supplies, over 90% effecient(80plus GOLD Certified), and no longer than a standard atx unit:

Why two sets of dominators? When you can get a 3x2gb kit of 2000mhz for cheaper, and have room to go to 12gb in the future:

Maybe one of these ssd's:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220390 (Also higher sustained read rate over intel)

That x58 micro is a killer board, halloween over on the evga forums got just under 45k in vantage with two GTX295's and a 975EE on one, and achieved higher overclocks than on a classified e759.

bomber, tell me how to get a 360 mm rad in a case that can't fit one :P trying to make it look as stock as possible as well(i'm actually trying to get into mdpc), i'll also think about the ram, but i could always overclock the corsair(i'm going with a green and black theme, so i need to cover up the slots as best i can)

Well, if you go with one set of memory, it would be in the red slots anyhow, and you would be left with the black slots;) Forgot for a second it was a micro case, i would go with two double rads(one on the front two 120mm fans and maybe mod two to the top or something? Because the rear fan is only an 80mm), because if your gonna have two gpu's and a nehalem under water i doubt a double and a single rad would be immensely effective. And may wanna think about switching over to feser radiators(better flow rate and cooling than the black ice radiators)

You may want to think about a bigger micro case...i just dont see two 285's fitting in that case with waterblocks, considering one review i read an X1600 or something with a stock fitted heatpipe heatsink wouldnt fit inside the case.
(The NZXT rogue can fit two double rad's with a bit of modding: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=147688)

the rads should be adequet(it totals up to a 360) i'm only after 60*C loaded @3.6(which should be doable at stock volts) and i'm after temps around 70-80*C on the gpu's as for mounting the rads, i'm planning on making a custom back for the case, and i can't use a feser rad, unless i use no fans, i'm also going to ditch the hdd rack, and mount an ssd behind the aquearo(sorry if this post doesn't make sense i'm on my psp right now, and it's a bit hard to post :P

I forgot about the equation. I just saw 6 rails @30w.

You are correct sir. :good:

In that case, you may want to run seperate loops, as the gpu's will heat your cpu considerably.
